Hi all from a very warm and sunny Easton! Perhaps a bit of summer is finally on the way. Lots of rain, now warmth, means a lot of ...lawn mowing!
Our Open House tomorrow will feature Dr. Neil Kozol. His father and he wrote a book titled "To The Fire of Normandy and Beyond" and Dr. Kozol will spend some time talking about the book, and will do selected readings. His father, Frank Kozol, went beyond Normandy and into French Intelligence, so this will be a different take on someone's World War II experiences. Dr. Kozol will speak at the Musuem at 2 p.m. Copies of the book will be available for purchase ($29.95 for hardcover, $19.95 for paperback as quoted by Dr. Kozol). On exhibit will be a selection of World War II items donated by the family of the late Frank Carlson. Articles of his uniform, military papers, and patches will be featured. Frank served in the Pacific Theatre for more than two years during the war as a carpenter. Following the war, he moved to Bay Road in Easton, and for many years was a respected home builder and contractor. As we remember D-Day this week and all the sacrifices that were made both on the beaches and all of the battlefields of World War II, this seems to be a most appropriate afternoon. I hope you'll join us! Until next week, Frank
