Greetings all! Our 18th annual "Chowder and Chatter" evening is coming soon! The evening will be held on May 4th at 6 p.m., at Southeastern Regional High School, 250 Foundry Street, South Easton (Route 106). Join us in the Colonial Room for a delicious meal of hot chowder, clam fritters, corn bread, coffee, and of course desert!
The delicious meal will be followed by a panel discussion that will focus on the Ames Shovel Works and Beacon Communities LLC. Mr. David Ames will direct this portion of the evening. The Ames Shovel Works has been developed very successfully into housing that retains the industrial and historical flavor of the site, and it is a nationwide model for the successful redevelopment of an historic site, and as such has received significant recognition including the Driehaus Award given by the National Trust.
Please mail in the form that is included in your most recent newsletter to Hazel Varella, 121 Center Street, North Easton, MA 02356. Seating is limited, and please remember that you are able to ask for a reservation for up to four people total including yourself. Members in good standing receive preference. Any seats still available after April 17th will be made available to the public. Any donations received will be used to purchase archival supplies, and will be gratefully acknowledged.
Special appreciation is given to "Lee" and Kevin Williams for continuing their very generous sponsorship of this event and to Dr. Robert Misiewicz who initially suggested this wonderful event eighteen years ago.
