Greetings, one and all! I have something to share with you today that you might find very interesting.
A few years ago, Elaine Sears from Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in North Easton brought me some letters that were written from the church Honor Roll Committee to those from the church who were serving in World War Two. The letters contain news of happenings in Easton, news from other soldiers and sailors, and news about the church itself. These letters, faithfully written by the Honor Roll Committee, brought a welcome touch of home to many who were serving our country so far away. As I read them I knew that they should be published one day.
That day has come! The members of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church have put together this book of World War Two letters. This is an extraordinary compilation, a snapshot of what was going on in Easton during the war. As I said, I read these a few years back and I have been excited about the prospect of them being published. I think you'll agree. There is something here for everyone, and it is a wonderful recognition for those who served.
Have an historic week!
