Weekly Update

Hello friends!

I began my Memorial Day weekend activities early today, arriving at 6:30 a.m. to give our hedges a trim before it got hot. After, I took a ride around town, checking out a few cemeteries, decorated with flags for Memorial Day. As historians, we try to remember things. Good things, bad things; rich things, poor things; interesting things, mundane things; days and dates, people, places and things. But this weekend, we remember that which is honorable and sacrificial - the giving of one's life for another. So as we gather together for parades and speeches and cookouts, let us hold dear the memory of all who have gone before us, and let us hold in honor the sacrifices made by so many for our freedom. Remember to thank a veteran for their service, and thank those who volunteer to place flags at the graves of all those in Easton who have earned the honor. For all of you who have done so, thank you. Until next time, Frank
