Weekly Update - Volunteers Needed
Geetings to all from a nice and sunny Easton! It feels like nice early summer weather has finally arrived. Enjoy it!
The Society and Museum is in a very busy period. There are a lot of good things going on with programs, tours, visitors, and research requests. While these are all good things, I seem to have a lot of weeks where I am not getting done what needs to be done. One main area of need is to finish reorganizing the second floor which houses the King Research Room. We have a very dedicated group of people who were meeting weekly to do some very important research projects and the space where they worked has been used for storage while another room was being finished to create storage for many of our large framed materials. I need to make a concerted effort to finish this project before fall arrives. To allow the time needed, the Museum will be closed on Thursday and Friday during the summer beginning this week. This will give me time to catch up on special projects as well as completing the upstairs work. We are putting together a team to assist with the work on Fridays between 9 a.m. and noon. If you are interested in helping out, even one Friday during the summer, please let me know so we can get a schedule built for volunteering. The work will include being able to climb two flights of stairs, possibly some lifting (although I expect to be the one getting that kind of exercise!), organizing materials. You should also know that it will be very warm as the summer progresses. This is a good opportunity to help your Museum out, and we need you!
I hope you all have a terrific week! Frank
