Hello from a very hot Easton! A return of hot and humid weather reminds me that summer is far from over.
Last week the third square was dedicated for Easton men killed in action during World War I. This week, the Town of Easton will take part in National Purple Heart Day. Here is the notice from our Veterans' Services Officer, Cory Ahonen:
The Town of Easton Veterans’ Services Officer invites you to join the Town of Easton in observation of National Purple Heart Day on Tuesday, August 7th at 9:00 AM. The brief ceremony will be held at the Town Offices flag pole, 136 Elm Street, and will conclude with a reception inside the Colleen A. Corona Board room on the first floor of the Town Offices. If you have any questions, please call Cory Ahonen at 508-230-0690.
Please join in thanking, remembering and honoring our servicemen and women who are Purple Heart recipients. Some never came home; some were prisoners of war; all who came back home came back bearing the marks of war in their many forms. May we remember them and their courageous acts as they gave so much of themselves for us and for the United States.
Until next week,
