Greetings from a very damp Easton! Cold weather keeps the wood stove running late into the spring in an attempt to keep the chill in the air out of my house!
Spring means it is time for our annual "Chowder and Chatter" evening at Southeastern Regional High School, to be held this year on Thursday, May 2, at 6 p.m. There are still seats available for this event. Contact Hazel Varella at 508-238-3614 for reservations. This is our 20th year of enjoying delicious chowder and fixings prepared by the students at the Southeastern Regional Culinary Program. This year's panel discussion following the meal will focus on the Society receiving the former Old Colony Railroad Station as a gift from the Ames and Parker families 50 years ago! The panel will consist of David Ames, Jr., Minnie Ames, Mary "Heidi" Ames, and Hazel Varella. Ed Hands will moderate the discussion. Special thanks to Lee Williams and his son Kevin Williams who have very generously sponsored this event for all of its 20 years. "Chowder and Chatter" was originally conceived by the late Dr. Robert Misiewicz. What a great idea! Wishing you all a wonderful week, Frank
