Happy Monday! I am pleased to communicate a very special announcement!
The Easton Historical Society and Museum is very honored to present to you a brand new book: A Beautiful Image of Historic Easton by Jonathan Jackson Coe and Robert "Buddy" Wooster. Two years in the making, this handsomely printed, full-color coffee table book features 260 pages and hundreds of images of historic places in Easton as they appears today. Jon is a very talented photographer, and has included some photos of wildlife that is abundant in town as well. The price is $50 each. Below is a description from the author:
Our coffee-table publication, A Beautiful Image of Historic Easton, which encapsulates current photography, by J. Jackson Coe and co-authored with Robert J. (Buddy) Wooster, is being released for sale after almost 2 years in production.
This 260 page book has chapters such as Historic Homes, Schools, Parks and Playgrounds, Places of Worship, Memorials, Burial Grounds, late seventeen hundred's mile and tavern markers along Bay Road, famous Ames buildings and of course, the “Fabulous Five,” or the five H.H. Richardson buildings. Most all photography is current (a handful of vintage images) and in beautiful digital color with digital images of paintings by Bill MacEntee. Our hopes are that one will get a very good sense of the fantastic history of our town via beautiful current images with an appropriate dive into the history of each image. A major assist through the very key members of the Easton Historical Society, Hazel Varella, Frank Meninno and Ed Hands, and of course, The Rev. Dr. William Ladd Chaffin, who wrote the first History of Easton in 1886.
To celebrate the release of this book, the Museum will host a book signing at our May 19th Open House from 1-5 p.m. It is the wish of the authors that Members receive first chance at this wonderful book before it is offered to the public. If you wish to reserve a copy, please notify Frank via email or by phone at 508-238-7774. Any books not reserved will be available to the public. We reserve the right to limit the number of books ordered by any member so that all members may have an opportunity to purchase a copy.
We thank, and appreciate, the generosity of North Easton Savings Bank and Bob Berg for underwriting the cost of this initial printing. Jon and Buddy wish that all proceeds benefit the Museum, and we are very grateful to them for this very generous gesture.
Looking forward to hearing from you and seeing you at the signing!
