Welcome summer! The summer solstice officially arrived at 11:55 a.m. today! That means the official start of summer, cookouts, beach days, and of course Cape Cod traffic!
Looking for something to do close to home this weekend? How about checking out the annual Legacy Art, Music, Food, and Fun Festival on Sunday, June 23rd at the Governor Ames Estate? Co-sponsored by the Easton Shovel Town Cultural District and the Easton Lions Club, the events begin at noon and go until 5 p.m. There are a number of children's activities planned, and there will be food and music aplenty to whet your appetite! A free shuttle service will be available on Sunday to get you around easier.
The event also features two art exhibits: the Adult Juried Art Exhibit at Oakes Ames Memorial Hall, featuring an opening night event tonight (Friday) from 6:30-9 p.m. with awards at 7 p.m. You may also see the artwork on both Saturday and Sunday afternoons at the Hall from noon to 5 p.m. both days.
We are once again hosting the Junior Juried Art Exhibition at our Museum on Sunday from noon-5 p.m., with awards given out at 12:15 p.m. The Museum is already set up and the artwork done by our young people looks terrific. We welcome you to come in and see the wonderful art and photography done by our talented artists! Congratulations to all who entered.
Have a great first summer weekend!
