Weekly Update

Well, hello! It has been a busy week here at the Museum, with projects going on, getting ready for our open house, the first summer tour, and of course plenty of visitors!

We had a good turnout for our first Tuesday Tour led by Ed Hands. He gave a very informative talk regarding some landmarks and important people in the Easton Center area. We were able to see the original Easton Center schoolhouse, now the History Museum. Next week we will look at the Wheaton Farm / cemetery area. I'll send a reminder on Monday.

This Sunday, the 14th, brings our July Open House which will feature two famous Easton gardens. They are the Rose Garden at Wayside, the home of Mary Ames Frothingham and our current Town Hall, and the majestic gardens at Unity Close. James Carlino, who along with the late Peter Simpson brought the Unity Close garden back to life, shared many photos taken during their time of ownership, and those will be played from a video. This exhibit was put together with the help of volunteer Valerie Staples, a junior at Bridgewater State University and a history major.

Join us for some local beauty and cool refreshments from 1-5 p.m.

Below is a photo of the Rose Garden to whet your floral appetite!

Hope to see you Sunday,
