Weekly Updates

October 18, 2019

Happy fall!  After a very windy and frosty week, falls colors have really begun to shine!  A drive around town is an easy way to look at beautiful foliage and there are plenty of great places to see some.  Take a trip to Wheaton Farm, Sheep Pasture, Borderland State Park, Frothingham Park, or any of the vistas around the larger ponds in town. Want a nice treat? Look at the Little Cedar Swamp behind the Pool Cemetery on Morse Road, across from Southeastern Regional.

Don't forget our special 50th Gala on November 10!  You can reserve your ticket by emailing me at the Museum, calling, or by ordering through the online store.  Sponsorships are also available for the program book.  Join us for a wonderful afternoon celebrating a very special place - our Museum!

The new Easton Community Calendar is here! The FREE Town of Easton Community Calendar for September 2019 through August 2020 is now available.  In addition to listing major events, it also includes information about civic organizations, religious groups and other important facts. This year's calendar features the Easton Historical Society and its special history. Prepared and printed by the North Easton Savings Bank, they are available at the Ames Free Library, Town Hall, all Easton branches of the Bank and here at the Museum. Here is the cover:

A Call To Ornaments!

We are again preparing a tree for the annual Easton Festival of Trees, which will be held at the Easton Country Club beginning December 1.  Our tree's theme this year will be "Santa Claus" and we are seeking your help!  We are in need of ornaments that feature Santa in any motif - modern, Victorian, American, European, sledding, golfing, etc. You get the picture. If Santa is in it, we could use it!  As you begin to go through your decorations please keep us in mind for donations of Santa ornaments for our tree. Remember, no ornaments will be returned, they go to whomever wins our tree.  If you can help, let us know!

Going green!

We are pleased to announce that we no longer will use plastic film bags!  We recently changed to paper bags for our shoppers to use. These Kraft paper bags include a strong, comfortable twisted paper handle and can be reused many times. Just doing our part to keep the future a little brighter for the generations still to come.

Until next week,

Frank
